This text is an atlas of cross-sectional anatomy based on the study of 115 cadaver
sections. These sections are displayed in pen and ink drawings and corresponding photographs
and clinical computed tomographic or magnetic resonance images. For easy reference,
slice orientation drawings are included on each right-hand page. The sections of the
axial anatomy depicted are of the thorax, abdomen, male and female pelvis, upper and
lower limbs, and head. In addition, the head and neck are shown in sagittal and coronal
planes. Two small supplemental sections on the upper abdominal area demonstrate anatomic
variations.
