Scattered throughout the Mayo brothers' extensive medical bibliography are occasional
personal reminiscences reflecting on past events and the people important to them.
During his later years, Dr. William J. Mayo, the elder Mayo brother, was particularly
inclined to identify memorable personalities and situations. These often brief, but
illuminating, discourses provide a rich insight into his own personality and the characteristics
of the people who influenced him.
